About Sasha
Dr. Sasha Galbraith is a partner in Galbraith Management Consultants, Ltd. Her specialty area of interest involves women-designed, -created, and –managed businesses. The objective of her research is to determine how women-designed businesses differ from male-designed organizations in structure, business processes, human resource practices, and culture. She also studies executive women in multinational settings and how they progress up the corporate hierarchy.
Her research is well received by both genders in organizations who wish to retain their top producers and attract new talent. Recent studies show that women are leaving the traditional workforce to start their own businesses at a rate of 3 to 4 times that of their male counterparts. Sasha’s goal is to produce a book on women in business that explores this fascinating topic in depth. She is available for consulting work and speaking engagements targeted specifically for her research.
Sasha is the author of Anatomy of a Business: What It Is, What It Does, and How It Works – an entertaining look at business from every angle for the lay person. Her wit and humor shine throughout the book, making this a refreshing read for business beginners. A “business book with attitude,” the twelve chapters whisk readers through the history of commerce beginning in 5000 BC with the ancient Sumerians and continuing up to complex modern-day practices. Sections written by executives titled “A Day In The Life of . . .” offer valuable insights for aspiring CEO’s, CFO’s, marketing managers, and business students.
Before joining Galbraith Management Consultants, Ltd., Sasha was Vice President of Wells Fargo Bank in California and spent eight years in the real estate investment advisory industry. She received her Ph.D. in Economic Science from the University of Lausanne, Switzerland with her thesis, “Women-Designed Organizations: Are they Different?” Prior to receiving her Ph.D., Sasha earned her MBA from the University of Southern California. She also holds a Bachelor’s degree in genetics from the University of California at Berkeley. Sasha is Swiss and American and is fluent in English, French, and German.
